Season's Greetings!!

Well, my Christmas sets are here. (thanks Beth for bringing them to my Mom) I love the new look of the snowflakes that Stampin' Up has come out with. I can just imagine them glittered, embossed, or even both. This is what I came up with, but I don't think it quite makes the mark. I know some things I would like to change about it, but I will do that later. I do like the colors, paper, ribbon, and the circles. But I don't like the way that it is arranged. supplies:
Snow Swirled & Snow Burst
Ruby Red, Baja Breeze, & versamark ink
Ruby Red, Baja Breeze, Old Olive, Whisper White cardstock & Holiday Treasures DSP
Whisper White & Crystal Clear ewmbossing powder, Baja Breeze double stitched ribbon, Button Bouquet, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Key tag punch, scallop punch

A Little "Thank You" note

I talked with my SIL the other night about when she wanted her baby shower and if she had registered. Do you know that she said she was going to buy Thank You notes to send for her gifts? Like I wasn't going to hook her up with tons of Thank You notes. That's just crazy thinking!! I have been working on this for a while. I will make a few, then fold some laundry, make a few more, feed my kids, make a few more, then play with the kids. You get the picture. I have decided that I am going to make her a variety of styles. This is the first one I cam up with. I got my inspiration from Mary Jo Albright's blog. (if you have some time, you should look at her blog because her work is amazing) I have always loved the way the Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red and Bashful Blue looked together. I think it's perfect for a little baby boy card. Emily is getting 10 of these for little baby Samuel.

First Christmas Card of the year!

I am sooooo ready for Thanksgiving, because shortly after, follows Christmas. I love how my family gets together at my Aunt Sandra's house and all the kids play and open presents. Now that I think about it, I just love getting together with my family. I have never seen a group of kids that play together as well as my little cousins, nephews, and own children. They get so excited to see each other that they talk about it for days leading up to the get together. Anyway, enough rambling.
Since I am in the Holiday spirit, I thought I would make my first Christmas card this year. I don't have any new "Christmas" sets (they should be here next week), so I used Season of Friendship.

I didn't want to use any traditional Christmas colors, so went with Baja Breeze, Sage Shadow, Pirouette Pink, and Chocolate Chip. I've been embossing a little more lately, too. (Watch out stamp group, we just might do a little at the next club get-together) I embossed the tree is Crystal Clear embossing powder by SU and also embossed the punched snowflakes in Whisper White embossing powder by SU. I used the Chocolate Chip and Autumn Vine DSP to layer on the Pirouette Pink card base. I really need to invest in a sewing machine, because all this faux stitching is killin' me. I'm off to do a little more creating. Hopefully I will have something else to show you tomorrow.

Season of Friendship, Words of Wisdom

Pink Pirouette, Baja Breezr, Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip & Whisper White cardstock

Autumn Vine & Chocolate Chip DSP

Versamark, Chocolate Chip, Pirouette Pink, Baja Breeze, & Sage Shadow ink

Another Baby card

I love baby cards and I love the Autumn Vine designer series paper. So naturally, I'm gonna put them together. I haven't embossed in a while, so I decided to throw a little of that in there too. This is what I came up with...

Autumn Vine DSP

Sage shadow, more mustard, chocolate chip, and whisper white cardstock

Sage Sgadow, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip ink

Clear Embossing powder, library clips, brads, photo corner, jumbo, large, small oval punches, paper piercing template

Autumn Vine Sneek Peek

The new Holiday Mini is coming in October. I got to preorder a couple of things and the Autumn Vine paper is my favorite. I will be buying packs and packs and packs. I gives me a whole new love for the color Sage Shadow. You all know that that is one of my least favorites colors. They could have retired it and I wouldn't have shed a tear. Not now. The color combo is so fresh and new that it has become one of my favorites. I couldn't wait to start using them.
This is what I came up with the first time I tried to use them. Not exactly like I had hoped, but I thought it was OK. The tree was a little hard to figure out. I is so big that it takes up a lot of the card base. You couldn't see much of the paper and that was what I was wanting to see. So cut off some of the tree and tried to figure out a way to make it look good on the card. I don't think I was that successful.
I actually finished the card, which is unusual. I usually end up filing it the "circular" file folder that is under my desk and holds all the other garbage that never comes out quite right. It was back to the drawing board, though. I decided to cut out the tree and mount it on a much smaller piece of Whisper White. I then cut out the leaves, as well as, stamping some onto the white base. I used dimensionals to make them pop. This is what I came up with in the end. I think I finally got it right!!

You can see the Autumn Vine paper and all of the tree. I like how the leaves look using the dimensionals. Now, don't you like Sage Shadow a little better with these colors? I know I do!

Supplies:

Season of Friendship and Best Yet stamp sets

Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow, Whisper White cardstock

Really Rust, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, Sage Shadow stampin' write markers

Chocolate poly-twill ribbon, SU! brads, paper piercing template, and wide and large oval punches.

My Monkeys!!

Every so often, I like to take Katie and Hollis out and try to get a decent picture of the two of them. Rarely does it happen. Katie will always make funny faces or won't look at the camera. Hollis won't sit still long enough for you to catch him, atleast not with her. Yesterday, I made them come out with me in the front yard and be my subjects. After about 15 minutes of trying my hardest to keep the mulch out of Hollis' mouth and trying to get Katie to smile, this is all I could get.
She tackled him to keep him from crawling off. It isn't perfect, but I think it's sweet. I love my monkeys!

A Tasty Treat

I went to Target to get some Christmas shopping done. That store just exhausts me! While I was browsing the clothing section, found the $5 Halloween shirts. They are always so cute and, well, I love Halloween. I came home and decided to make a card to celebrate the upcoming holiday.

I used Basic Black as my 41/2x51/2 card base. Then layered the Ghostly Greetings DSP from Stampin' Up! I don't have a Kiwi Kiss marker, but I think that Old Olive is close enough. So I used Old Olive, along with Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black and colored the stamped image.
I stamped each of the candies in coordinating ink and paper and cut them out. I used a dimensional for the Basic Black one because I thought it was pretty coated in black glitter and wanted it to look special. I used the new Kiwi Kiss ribbon. I stamped the "yom.yum.yum" in Wisper White craft ink onto Basic Black cardstock and punched it with the Word Window punch.

Finally, a Nugget Tin

My Sister-in-law(SIL) is preggers with their first baby and it's a BOY!! I am so excited about this baby. Kinda like it's my own! I just can't wait for my brother and SIL to become parents because they are going to be great at it. So, with baby on the brain, I thought I would make the mom-to-be a little something. I bought the tin from Speciality Bottle and the item number is THN8. I covered the Hershey Nuggets with the different patterned papers from Stampin' UP! The Elephant came from Nursery Necessities. Now, go forth and create your own Nugget Tin!!
*Hey Melissa, the "G" from the teacher gift came from the font "Spring". I don't remember where I got it, but I know that it was from on of those free sites.
